This year’s beer was developed in concert by brewmasters Spike Buckowski of Terrapin, Dan Del Grande of Bison, and REUNION co-founder Pete Slosberg. It is a Belgian-Style Scotch Ale – a nod to Virginia’s heritage. It is brewed to an original gravity of 1078 using 5 different malts and hopped with East Kent Goldings to 35 IBU. It is fermented with a high gravity Trappist yeast and is 7.0% alcohol by volume.

Bottle 22fl.oz. [ As Terrapin Reunion ’10 Belgian Style Scotch Ale ].Unclear medium to dark brown colour with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate to heavy yeasty, spicy, vintage - oxidide. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, yeast, spicy. Bottle @ Papsoe tasting as "Terrapin ’10 Belgian Style Scotch". Dark brown with tiny off-white head. Aroma is malt, caramel, toasted and a little oxidized. Flavour is malt, caramel, toasted, bread,medium sweet, little oxidized, little dusty, hop and a little bitter.

22 fl oz bottle. Pours clear and golden deep amber with a small off white head. Aroma is toasted malty and caramelish. Light spiced to herbal. Dry, yeasty, fruity and light spiced phenolic. Caramelish. Medium dry and bitter finish.

Bottled. A brown beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, butterscotch, alcohol, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, alcohol, and a bit of butterscotch, leading to a dry alcoholic finish.

22 ounce bottle. Dark amber color topped by a small, brief beige head. Caramel malt nose with a touch of yeasty sourdough and floral hops. Sweet candi-sugar flavor. Notes of brown sugar and bready, smoky malt. Some dark dried fruit and vanillaat back of palate. Subtle hop finish with some noticeable alcohol.

Bottle at The Funky 7, Brooklyn. Pours lightly hazy brown with a small, off-white head. Lightly toasted malts, caramel, modest yeast in the aroma. Sweet flavor, some caramel, spices, bread, yeast, fruits. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Faintly warming finish, light sticky sugars, caramel, light fruit, some nuts and toffee. Not bad.

A brown ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt with light curacao, light alcohol warmth, pleasant and smooth. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity caramel malt with candy sugar, light curacao, light alcohol warmth, very nice. Bottle at Big Deck tasting 2018.
