Bottle, last of the backlog ratings. Bought whilst on holiday in Dorset. Poured dark brown with an off-white to beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, toffee, milk chocolate and dark fruits and berries. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Best of the Dorset Piddle beers I've had.

Cask at the Market Porter. It pours black with a thick tan head. The nose is earthy roast, charred wood, dull ash, dark chocolate and hint of smoke. The taste is rich, bitter - sweet, smooth, chocolate, chewy roast, touch of charry ash, plum, blackcurrant, creme caramel and toasted nut. Medium body and fine carbonation. Great condition. Pretty well - rounded and quaffable. A well-made cask porter.

(Cask at Market Porter, Borough, London, 23 Nov 2013) Dark brown colour, almost black, with creamy beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of chocolate, coffee and dark bread. Malty, roasted taste with coffee, chocolate, dark bread and a dry finish with a balanced, roasty bitterness. Well made and tasty porter. Nice one.
