Pale ale. Pale ale pale ale pale ale. Pale ale? Pale ale pale ale. Pale ale pale ale pale ale pale ale. pale ale pale ale… Pale ale pale ale. Pale ale. Pale ale ”Pale ale.” Pale ale pale ale. Pale ale!

What we really want to write here is just Pale Ale… but that’s not very informative (nor should it be). We want to shout it at people. Get them excited. People nowadays rarely get excited about a pale ale. Pale Ale! This beer is a collaboration between Dugges Bryggeri and Cloudwater Brewing Co., Manchester, UK. We wanted to explore the cooperation between a soft, biscuity malt base and lots and lots of fruity hops. We wanted to make a modern pale ale staple. The one you have in your fridge at all times. The goto. The neo-session. The pale ale, pale ale, pale ale. Vienna malt and oats gives the base, American hops in abundance gives the treble. And in the middle, there’s just pure delight. Pale ale!

(Bottle) Pale amber colour with big, frothy, off-white head. Hoppy, fruity nose with grapefruit, pine needles, honey, toast and floral hops. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of grapefruit, pineapple, passion-fruit, honey, bread, pine needles and a balanced citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, mainly dry. Tasty, well balanced and pretty straightforward pale ale. Nice one.

Pours very hazy orange golden, topped with medium small and not so lasting just slightly offwhite head. Pleasant fruity nose, sweet peachy notes with a lot of resin, some citrusy presence as well. Nice fruity sweetness upfront, medium bitterness with a lot of citrusy presence. A bit peppery finish. Shorter aftertaste. Sparkly and medium body.

330ml bottle: BB 17th May 2018. Bought and drank at Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury on 20th Nov 2017. Cloudy, dull amber body, white covering on top. Fairly sweet overall with a fruity, hoppy nature. Tropical fruits rule the roost here, with a nice mixture of citrus bitterness and sweetness coming through in the taste.
