Cask @ Snow Goose Inverness 12/04/11 Frothy head, overcarbonated. Bit of caramel malt on the nose. Taste of grassy, bit spicy hops and fruity caramel malt. Long rather harsh bitter finish with slight metallic notes. Rather mediocre.

[Cask at the William Robert Loosley (JDW), High Wycombe] Copper, slight off-white head. Sweet toffee, baked apple & raisins with a traditional earthy bitterness and a tickle of pepper. Nice rich mouthfeel. Not bad, I do prefer these slightly darker bitters.

Cask at The Nut Tree, Murcott, Oxon 26-10-08 Can’t quite believe that I hadn’t rated this beer before. Pours copper in colour good clarity nice white head. Nice fruity and malty beer, some bitterness from the hops. This is fine enough but unlike the name not special. A6 A4 F6 P3 OV11 3.0 Had this again, pours more dark amber than the copper I described before and with a white head. Some soapy hops, bit soft in the mouth, bitterness comes through at the end maybe with a touch of spiciness that I get from somewhere. quite amazingly I rated this exactly the same as before. Cask @ Far From the Madding crowd, Oxford. Pours a dark amber color with a small off-white head. Fruity malty aroma with some hoppy hints. Fruity malty and hoppy caramel flavor. Long malty finish with a slightly bitter aftertaste.

Pours a copper colour with some creamy white head. Slightly malty aroma, bitter taste with a little bit of sweetness in the finish. Not bad, but not particularly unique.

Cask sampled with Finn at the Glasshouse, Norwich. Low creamy head over an amber colured body. Lacing on the glass. Lack of aroma. Slightly bitter. Has got some refreshing sweetness, but stands out as rather anonymous (26.09.2006).
