This one was poured into a nonic pint glass.
The appearance was a ruddy brown color with a thin off white foamy head that dissipated at a level pace. Some lace.
The aroma had some roastiness, sweet rye, spicy rye and some citrusy bitter hops. Nuttiness is far underneath. Some earthiness.
The flavor brings the previously mentioned aromas together gently between the earthiness to the spiciness to the sweetness. I dig that blend, that’s really nice. Nicely blends all together on into the aftertaste and on into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium in body. Good sessionability. Carbonation felt good. ABV felt appropriate. Spiciness is tamed by the brown ale malts.
Overall, all seems to be well with this one. Definitely one to come back to.

Cask at GBBF 2012. It pours hazy mahogany brown, with an off-white head. The nose is leather, wood, roasted malt, cherry, raisin, instant coffee and light soy sauce. The taste is plum, prune, cherry, caramel wood, leather, umami aspect and leaf, with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. A solid brown ale.
