Cask at GBBF '22 day 2, 03/08/22. Dark mahogany brown with a decent beige covering. Nose is big on liquorice, dark malts, light spice, cocoa powder. Taste comprises faint coffee, dark malts, more liquorice, spice, charr, toffee. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Not bad.

From cask at the GBBF with Holmen1 and Stephen 03.08.22. Very dark brown. Biege head. Strong aroma and taste of liquorice. And more luquorice. A bit one-dimensional. Some bitterness in aftertaste.

Gravicask at Chelmsford & Mid Essex Winter Beer Festival. Dark brown body, covering fawn-coloured head. Modest liquorice aroma. Flavours of caramel malts and liquorice followed by a roasted end. Rather thin in the mouth. Accepted (16.02.2017).

Cask @ Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival. Medium head with medium duration. Color is dark brown. Aroma and taste are anise, caramel, roast malt and hops. Anise is very dominant.

Cask. Dark brown color with medium beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, licorice. taste roasted malt, coffee, which is overwhelmed with strong anise. Enjoyable beer, but not for everyday drinking.

Cask (gravity) @ The 18th Reading Beer and Cider Festival 2012, Reading, Berkshire England.Clear medium to dark brown colour with a small, frothy and open, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, licorice - anis seed. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration, anis seed, spicy, nice balanced. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20120505]
