Alongside ale malt we added Aromatic Barley Malt which imparts the beer’s rich toffee colour and satisfying maltiness. We used Goldings hops from 3 farms in East Kent to impart a delicate balancing bitterness and a fruity twist. We then slowly oak matured the beer to unlock the delicious flavours of vanilla and toffee locked inside the oak grain, only bottling it when we deemed it to have matured to perfection.

Bouteille 330ml.

12 ounce bottle. A boxing day brew! Pours a ruddy color with a small beige head. A sweet nose of berries. Toffee, caramel, light oak, more massive berries, strawberry and some light tartness. Finises with tobacco, sweet molasses. Pretty good.

Smells like vanilla and some oak in it. Caramelized malt. Pours clear orange with creamy head, decent lacing. Not bad for an Innis and Gunn, really. Actually pretty decent. A little sweet and a touch bitter. Bottle.

Bottle: Poured a clear dark golden color ale with a medium size foamy head with average retention and some light lacing. Aroma of vanilla and oak with sweet malt based and light sweet caramel malt notes. Taste is dominated by quite strong vanilla which borders on gross territory with some toffee and sweet caramel malt notes. Body is smooth with a creamy texture and good carbonation. Interesting but too much vanilla and a bit too sweet for its own good.

330 ml bottle. Pours a dark clear copper color with light head that dissipates quickly. Aromas of malt and caramel with a hint of wood. Definite oakiness but not overbearing. Additional flavors of sweet toffee, roasted malts, and vanilla, just like the description. Very nice.

Bottle from BC Liquor Store
Nice amber color with copper hue; medium sized compact head. Light aroma of caramel. Medium body, pleasant but simple toffee flavor, some toasted notes, some sweet wood, oak; the bitterness is quite low.
As many other Innis & Gunn beers, not bad, but inoffensive.
