Alongside ale malt we added Aromatic Barley Malt which imparts the beer’s rich toffee colour and satisfying maltiness. We used Goldings hops from 3 farms in East Kent to impart a delicate balancing bitterness and a fruity twist. We then slowly oak matured the beer to unlock the delicious flavours of vanilla and toffee locked inside the oak grain, only bottling it when we deemed it to have matured to perfection.

Dark clear ruby pour, small white head.
Really nice caramel, toffee, vanilla malt aroma. The hops are quite present and add a nice zesty hoppiness in the flavour. The finishis a little strong, the alcoholis quite evident. Th mouthfeel is a little thick and the carb is low. Overall, one of their better releases.

(From Beers of Europe) Deep amber, small off-white head. Vanilla, oak and toffee. Definitely Innis & Gunn then! As with all their beers it may be too sweet for some but I think it’s full of flavour and a great laid back mellow late night beer.

22nd July 2012
Clear dark amber beer, good cream coloured head. Light palate, crispy and a little dry. A little creamy malt with a toffee streak. A light touch of spice and some bubblegum ester buried underneath. Dried fruits and a trace of vanilla oak. Finishes smooth and semi dry. Well joined up and tasty. The only minus point is a little paper.
