Can. Poured a hazy gold with a white head that lasted throughout the beer. Aroma was full of very sweet grains and cereal with a bit of a cookie note as well. Flavor was similarly overly sweet with grains and shortbread.

7 oz bottle. Pours slightly on the pale side of golden with a white head. Mildly skunky aroma with sweet pale malts. Basic biscuity flavor with a little bit of a fruity tone and a slight suggestion of hops. Not that bad, really.

Sample from bottle at Glunz Beer Expo, April 5. Pours nice and bubbly out of their eensy teensy split. Leaves a few bubbles in my glass. A thin layer of foam. Slightly fruity, but that may be traces of New Holland Envious still in my glass. Just a little bit of ale smell. Taste is kind of watery and close to flat. I think I’m picking up a little corn to it. Some cream ale ester does come through: not like a fruity ale, but just enough to differentiate it from a lager, if you knew the difference. Halfway decent, but nothing I’d pick out at the store.

7oz. Pours with a golden body and a small white head. Aroma...uhh...light struck...skunk glands, some corn sugar, grassy. Taste is sweet, grassy, corn. Very thin body. Fizzy.

Never judge a book by its cover (or sometimes low RB ratings). I bought this as a gag to send out as extras (plus to add to my nip collection). How can one refuse an 8 pack... 8 pack people, that is so awesome. So it pours a clear golden, not as macro yellow as one would expect, color. The head is nicely medium thick with a nice visible carbonation. Overall the beer is clean, no off flavors and has a nice light white biscuit maltiness. Nicely, well, creamy. But nothing off, very easy drinking. Light body yet not watery. Seriously, am I drinking a different beer (or have I had it with big beers so much that I am enjoying this). Despite the green bottle it isn’t skunked, maybe the small bottles are better protected in the 6 pack.
7oz bottle, 3 Fonteinen sampling glass (a nip glass for a nip bottle).

Aroma is light caramel and lightly floral. Darkish golden color with a white head that didn’t really arrive. Near medium body with somewhat chewy, creamy carbonation. There’s some mild malt, and some light bitter. The finish is a little herbish. That’s what resembles a lager. Other than that it’s ok, so you just have to keep liquid in the mouth.

A tiny lil bottle! Pale pale ale, with a thin white head. Aroma of sulfur and cream corn. In mouth, creamy yes, but like a can of cream corn again....awful stuff, watery in nature. OK, had to try it.

7 oz bottle. Sour barley malt aroma. Pale yellow with small head. Barley malt flavor - slightly sour with moderate hops finish. Nicely blended with a pleasant flavor. My first beer and my last illegal beer (drank one just before midnight on my 21st birthday). Tastes the same as I remember when Hudepohl still made it - beats most BMC products and I see why it was my go-to beer back in the 80s. A very nice cream ale.

Thanks to gerdy555 for the trade. I guess when I was afraid that I would never see a bottle of Little Kings on store shelves ever again I figured I owed it to the Ohio brewing community to at least try it. Needless to say getting through the seemingly insubstantial 7oz was no small task. The beer pours a rather bright yellow color with a thin and quickly dying head. No real lacing to speak of. The aroma is a little musty but there are some hops trying to make their presence felt. The body is weak, and so is the watery hops flavor with hints of sourness here and there. The finish is kind of the last gasp in this little guy. I guess on some level I am glad I tried it but it's just not a good beer.
