It’s been over 10 years since Adnams Mild Ale was last brewed in Southwold. Once the cornerstone of the brewery, it outsold everything else put together. Tastes changed and the volumes declined until, unfortunately, it was no longer viable. In the last few years Mild has gained ground again and we’ve had more requests for mild than anything else.

Try this beer with meaty foods that have a caramelised sweetness or toffee flavours coming through such as braised pork belly and a delicious dessert of sticky toffee pudding.

Adnams Mild is 3.2% ABV and very dark in colour with some chocolate, coffee and dried fruit flavours.

Cask at the Cleveland Arms. Black-brown pour with a foamy, light tan head. Nice roasted malt aroma with hints of dark fruits. Light to medium sweet flavor, lovely roasted malts, rich and smooth coffee, mild fruits, perhaps berries, some creamy candies. Light to medium in body with fine carbonation. Smooth, tasty finish, mild roast malts, some brown sugar, slight cocoa. Just a really solid beer.
