On gravity at the Green Man, Bristol 27/09/10. Amber in colour with a slight white head. Sweet, fruity aroma with a whiff of citrus hop. Flavour was packed with caramel and red fruits, leading to a syrupy finish with over prominent alcohol. Not so pleasant.

Hazy, chunky copper and brown coloured body with a super-thin slightly off-white head; a bunch of sediment in this one, and it pours still, but has a bit of carbonation, so it seems. Aroma of apples, nuts, caramel, toffee, light hops, roasted malt, yeast and some peanut butter - a ton of various smells in this one! Medium-bodied; Strong astringent hoppiness in the taste mellows out to a nutty finish with some of the caramel and toffee tastes. Aftertaste shows a lot of metallic hop bitterness with yeast and perhaps some more hops. Still in the taste and throughout - no carbonation at all it doesn’t seem. Actually, it seems like it’s from the cask, but it’s poured from a bottle, and on the other side of the Atlantic! I sampled this 500 mL bottle purchased from the Utobeer Market Stall in Borough (London), England on 29-November-2008, sampled at home in Washington on 18-April-2009.

Angry fist of Santa tasting at Chris_o’s. Hazy orange gold, thin off whtie head. Everyone says it’s diacetyl, I got some popcorn. I quite liked it.
