Bottle. It’s a clear one, perhaps with a very minor hazy, amber in color and topped by a firm, off-white head of moderate size. The aroma is a tad weak for an IPA I think, definitely not the typical West Coast IPA. Flowers, some grass, canned fruits syrup and a touch of peaches and banana. It’s rather bitter in the mouth, soft on the palate, with nice carbonation. Medium to full body. Pine cones, some syrupy notes and a flowery touch in the flavor. Mostly bitter finish, with some pine cones and sugary maltyness. A fine beer, indeed, but it’s too careful initially, and I wouldn’t mind more body and balance. 130210

Litt sødme, men bare litt. Medium karbonering og en tørr, metallisk ettersmak. Håper Berentsen prøver igjen. Skal kjøpe en flaske til for å teste den på Willy. Flaske hos Harald: førsteinntrykket bedre enn sist. Opp fra 3 til 3.2 for friskheten.

0.5l bottle. This is a clear amber-golden one with a big light fluffy and lacing just off-white top. The nose on this is surprisingly low. Some malty sweetness with only traces of something light hoppy. Clearly not an US style IPA this, but it's nice in it's own way. It has a bit more bitterness in the flavor. Still, I have to say it's on the sweet side of the scale. It's average on the carbonation and light oily on the mouthfeel. Almost a bit metallic on the bitterness, slightly dusty and pungent. Dry, pine and there is also some sweet fruitiness in this one. Overall impression is perhaps not all that, but I still have to say that this was definitely not a boring beer in any way. Don't feel any instant urges to purchase again though. 16.11.2012

Bottle shared with ClubGonzo. Looks great at first glance, and the beer has a clear amber colour with an off-white medium head. Appears fruity in the nose with hints of plums, berries, sweet winegums, pale malt, hay and some alcohol in the finish. Sweet berries do I also find in the flavour that is as fruity as the aroma and feels nice and soft. In addition feels more like a classic IPA with notes of floral grapefruit and hops. Mouthfeel is both smooth and soft, and the beer has a medium bitterness. This is a solid and balanced IPA that manages to keep the reins in contrast to some more hoppy and crazy IPAs

Small offwhite head. Clear amber body. Perfumy fruity rose water aroma with floral notes. Dry-sweetish earthy fruity taste with grassy buttery notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, dry mouthfeel. Dryish cocos and perfumy fruity aftertaste with grassy spicy notes. Nice, unusual, subtle. (0.5l bottle, shared with gr0ve, at Cardinal, Stavanger.)

50cl bottle at Matstreif 2012. Pours clear amber with a white to off-white head. Aroma of malt and caramel with some fruits, pine and hints of citrus and spices. Sweet and malty with a pleasant caramel flavor and a fairly bitter finish. Quite well balanced and a nice beer for a sunny early autumn afternoon in Oslo.

500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 7%. Deep golden to amber colour, moderate white head. The aroma has stronger notes of sweetish malts than aroma hops, hints of jam. More aroma hops, please! The flavour is medium sweet and malty, notes of jam again, decent (English?) bittering hops in the finish, very bitter aftertaste. The alcohol is not well hidden. Not the greatest IPA in the world, but an acceptable first try from Berentsen.

Sample @ Berentsens, Gladmat, Stavanger. Pours light amber, with a light airy head. Aroma is very sweet of tropical fruits, honey and flowers, as well as a nice caramel malt with toffee. Body is full and creamy, with soft carbonation. Flavour is sweet of nice fruity hops with good bitter pine and orange peel, as well as a good lightly burned malt backbone. Nice and long bitter finish with orange peel. Splendid IPA from Berentsens.
