Cask at the mermaid St Albans. A ruby red amber coloured pour with a beige head. Aroma is semi sweet, nutty, mineral, toffee, earthy malts. Flavour is composed of toffee,, character malts, toast, dried fruits, pretty basic. Palate is semi sweet ok cask condition. Fine.

Cask at the Babington Arms (JDW), Derby. Gold with a creamy cream head; the aroma is grainy and bready; smooth and creamy, dry and velvety but lacking any real flavour, and with a gently bitter finish. Tastes more like a nitro-keg than a real ale.
