Can. 10.5% version, 'Straight to the Core'. Hazy deep reddish amber beer, small bubbly pale tan head that does not last long. Light palate, mildly dry, decent fine minerally carbonation. Luvverly malts, a little cream and caramel, just a good base for the superbly decadent bourbon barrelling. Smooth rich fruity bourbon. A little vanilla oak. A lovely buttery caramel comes through on the back end which is reasonably crisp and shows a little alcohol spice. Bourbon barrelling is such a ubiquitous treatment these days it's easy to get blase about what that brings. This beer reminds you of how good it can be when done just right. Delicious.

Rating the 10.5% version. 330 ml can. Pours a very dark reddish brown with little head. Aromas of rich oaky bourbon, caramel, raisins and bready malts. Flavors follow same although thinner with a bit of alcohol.
