Pour is a near black with a large tan head. Aroma is a rich roasted malt without being over the top and I also get some chocolate and ever so slight coffee. Flavor is more of the same with a nice roasted malt with some bitter bakers chocolate. Pretty solid everyday porter. Decent flavor without being an over the top attempt.

Sample at the "Drink Moar Beer!" tasting on 06/12/2015: The beer is a dark brown color with a medium tan head that diminishes steadily to a wispy film. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt, chocolate and mild hops. Light-bodied with flavors of toasty malt, sweet chocolate and slighty earthy hops. The finish is sweet with a chocolate malt aftertaste. Decent overall.

12 oz. bottle shared by Willrunforbeer, much thanks. Aroma is earth English malts showing a light coffee and chocolate tones. Body is fuller for the style with a lingering earthy bitterness. The texture is drying on the tongue with a nice level of hops. Nice hop profile.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with faint orange highlights and a large creamy beige head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was dry, roasty and woody. The flavor was dry, roasty, woody, smoky and had notes of cola, vanilla and a hint of charcoal. Very long roasty wood and smoke finish. Medium body.

Rcvd in trade. Reviewed by notes.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a nice looking dark hazy brown to an almost black color. The lacing was a nice looking sticky streaming trickles sliding right on down into the beer.
The smell had a nice roasty to sweet dark chocolate to light coffee blend.
The taste took those previously mentioned flavors to blend extraordinarily.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a pretty good sessionability about it. The carbonation seemed appropriately styled to have a fairly good roastiness on the tongue and still allowing a decent sharpness from some bitter coffee beans to make a worthy effort of a pummeling on the tongue.
Overall, this was a pretty good Porter I’d have again.

Total Wine, Fairfax 12oz ($2): Pours pretty near to black with a great looking head. Aroma is earthy, toffee, caramel, plant matter, and hints of coffee. Taste to me seems more coffee. Somewhat mineralish and herbal. Interesting flavors. Well balanced through and through. Very smooth. Very slightly sweet. Mild sugary afftertaste.

On draft at Trio in Kitty Hawk. Pours a clear cola brown with a thick lacy tan head. Aroma if toasted nuts. Flavors of roasted grain and some coffee notes. Velvety mouthfeel. Crisp slightly bitter finish.

$1.80 bottle from Wine Warehouse, CHO. Pours nearly black with a large tan head.. Smells of fake chocolate candy. Tastes of chocolate, burnt sugar, malts... has a cheap taste to me.
