Bold, resinous and bursting with bright grapefruit aroma, this IPA is a tribute to the decades of hard work by conservationists to restore the James River as a bounty of vibrant aquatic life, eco-friendly recreational activity, and in our case, fresh brewing water. These efforts have culminated recently with the symbolic return of the endangered Atlantic sturgeon, a prehistoric, yet majestic behemoth of a fish, spotted as far up the James River as the fall line in Richmond.

From tap at BeerTemple, Amsterdam. Aroma is fruity hops with tropical fruits, grapefruit, malt, and soft pine. Flavour is bitter with some sweetness. Medium bodied. Good basic IPA with a big hoppy bitterness, I like it.

OK, its been over 10 years since I had a beer from hollywood. This one comes in a stubby bottle and I drank it right out of the bottle just for kicks. I can see its simple clear pale looking thru the glass. Mild slight pine hops nose. First big swig is beefy IPA: Large and in charge resentful aggrieved disgruntled grudge-bearing straight up bitter hops, terribly on style. Middle is unkind unpleasant unfriendly inconsiderate and uncharitably rude, just like most well made IPA. Has quite a kick, surprised its not styled as a double or impy IPA, whew. Near the end its getting a little boozy; I'm glad, maybe it will take my mind off it abominable disposition. Has decent low level co2 throughout the session. Yes, if you like IPA, put this on yer bucket list, I bet a fresh bottle or draft will satisfy your yearning. I'll give it an extra point overall for the cute little stubby bottle.

12oz bottle from the brewery. Just what I was hoping it would be: a nice, crisp, clean , well brewed American IPA. Easy drinking and refreshing for the ABV. Floral, citrus, mild bitterness. Mellow toffee touched malt tone. Great balance. Solid.

Bottle - lightly hazy gold with a soapy head/lace - super dry and peppery - despite the dryness, there is a distinct berry undertone to the flavor - quite bitter, aromatic, botanical - reminiscent of a dry gin - it’s actually really nice to see a super dry, super bitter IPA on the market - so many now are too sweet and/or lacking balance - I actually think this is an excellent example of a dry American ipa.

19/9/2020. Bottle at the Prague GP bottle-share, courtesy of SHIG. Pours clear pale amber with a frothy off-white head. Aroma of citrus, peach, pine, malt and caramel. Moderate sweetness and medium bitterness. Medium body, average carbonation. Bitter piney finish. Quite decent.

Stumpy 12 fl oz bottle via Beer52. Drank at home on 23rd May 2020, during the virus Lock In. Light haze to the light amber body, white head that lasted. Liked the hoppiness of this resinous brew, citrus leanings late on, but a good hoppy beer all round.

[12oz stubby bottle from Beer52.] A hazy pale amber pour with a billowing cream head; malty aroma; sharp citrus taste, rather sour; then grapefruit to finish. Quite nasty.

Tight bubbly white head stayed on an unclear light amber body. Well balanced aroma with a lightly spiced hit. Medium bodied, soft on the tongue with a prickle down the throat. Malt forward with pine, resin, grapefruit, pith & caramel with a long tangy finish. Excellent West Coast
