Draft - Lots of pine with a hint of roast. Clear copper with a small beige head. Lots of wood and some fresh grassy leafy herbal notes that is strong and overpowering. Not enough roast, colour is wrong, in fact everything is. Confirmed with bartender, this is it.

For a black IPA this lacks much hop character, roasted Malts are not all the roasty and I picked up a bit of molasses. A by directionless.

Med brown, earthy, woody example...lots of bitterness, wood, breadcrust...good body, just enough sweetness to make it go down well.

Bottled. A red-brown beer with a thin tan head. The aroma has notes of hops, malt, caramel, and citrus fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and citrus fruits, leading to a bitter finish.

Bottle 100 cl. Courtesy of fiulijn. Pours a hazy orangey brown with a beige head. Vanilla and subtle roast in the nose. Medium body, subtle unclean roast, some vanilla with a bitter finish. Lacks crispiness - sort of a Stout with extra hops which is not my idea of a Black IPA. 250213

2013-02-24, bottle from Central City Liquors, Surrey, 6-4-7-4-13=34
Dark brown color with medium sized compact head. Aroma of dark caramel, with some roasted malt, and dirty water. The body is lean, the mouthfeel is quite dry, with strong flavor of roasted malts, some dusty feeling, strong bitterness, enough hop resins.
Hard brew, I enjoyed it more on draught.

2012-12-31, draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver, 6-4-8-4-14=36
Black color, with brown hue; small creamy head. The aroma of roasted malt is quite dusty too. Lean mouthfeel; roasted malt flavor, very good, not excessive, yet dry, with some nice black coffee, and vibrant hopping, bitter and partially resiny. Long final.
Very good.
