Hand pulled pint into a UK sleeve in the superb ’Bell’, Eccleshall, Staffordshire on 5th April 2012 during a mini-beerfestival. Yet another good looking golden, clear beer from Holdens: usual white crown too, this one was on the thin side though unlike most of their brews. The smell was earthy with hints of malty molasses and fruity hops: nothing strong, just esters floating up as the beer moved towards room temp. Refreshing more than rewarding in flavour: pleasant tasting blend with the malts just about leading the race for domination with the hops preventing the beer becoming sweet or over malty. My pint was in excellent condition and a joy to drink: pity it was during a fest or I’d have had another for sure.
