Carrot Cake is an Experimental Strong American Brown Ale developed to taste like a traditional carrot cake. The malty rich base provides the “cakebatter” to support the ginger, allspice, cinnamon, maple syrup and carrot puree for additional depth, complexity and flavor. Simcoe hops and orange zest add a slight citrus element coupled with the vanilla and marshmallow fluff to deliver the cream cheese frosting component

Sampled on draft at GTMW 2011. Pours a clear copper color with a large frothy tan head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of carrots, nutmeg and other spices and a tart, earthy note. The taste is carrots, bread and earthy tartness, gingerbread and spices. Medium bodied.

Thanks to Rogueone for sharing a growler. The beer is a clear brownish-red color with a medium light beige head that dissipates steadily. Partial rings of lace. Aroma of...well, carrot cake. Actual spiced carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. No way they could replicate that in the flavor though right? Wrong, a-hole. The beer tastes exactly like a freaking carrot cake, again with a cream cheese finish. I don’t know what dark arts are involved in concocting something like this but I am blown away. This beer was tried multiple times throughout the evening and at different temperatures and at no point did it not taste like carrot cake at the corresponding temp. Really amazing achievement in the field of "beers that taste like desserts".

4oz pour at Churchkey. Pours a bright, ruby red with zero head. Aroma is exactly like carrot cake. Seriously, like smelling a moist slice of carrot cake, spices, cloves, cinnamon, cream cheese icing, sweet root vegetables. Flavor is very sugary, cream cheese icing, a little clove, nutmeg. Medium bodied, cloying, overly sweet finish. Flavor is exactly like carrot cake too. It’s incredible how well they hit this flavor profile. That said, this is a very, very sweet beer and more than a few sips would definitely be too much.

At Short’s Brewing Monster Tap Takeover at Churchkey. Poured a Aroma of this one is mild carrots, with almost cream cheese frosting like characteristics. Woah. Flavor is kind of like a carrot cake, though it is a bit heavy on some spices - I noticed nutmeg in mine. My mind almost went straight to what I normally expect from a pumpkin beer.
