Bottle. Appearance- very very dark, with a half finger persisting beige head. Aroma- big bitterness, coffee dominance, cocoa, roast malt. Taste- roasty, smooth, coffee bitterness, foamy mouthfeel, creamy, medium bodied, dry finish. A very good stout.

Wakefield Beer Festival. Black with a small head. Has plenty of burnt roasted aroma and flavour. Full-bodied.

Cask (gravity) @ The 18th Reading Beer and Cider Festival 2012, Reading, Berkshire England.Clear dark brown colour with a average to small, open and frothy, fair lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, moderate chocolate, sod notes. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and light bitter with a long duration, roasted, chocolate. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20120503]

Cask@Reading Beer Festival 2012. Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is mild whisky, some roasted notes with fruity and caramelly notes. Flavour is roasted malts, wood, some slight liquorice and mild tobacco.
