3/12/2021. BIAB sample courtesy of SHIG. Pours clear pale gold with minimal head. Aroma of sweet stewed apple, sugary apple pie. Medium plus sweetness, light bitterness, touch of tart. Moderate body, oily texture, low carbonation.

Sample courtesy of SHIG, cheers Shawn! Golden colour, some short-lived bubbles on top and aroma of apple, fruity, funk. Taste is sweetish, apple, some core, fruity, tart, sugary with vanilla hints. Medium bodied, low carbonation, medium-sweet finish. Quite OK

BIAB: Poured a golden with bubble head. Aroma is musty mushy apples, tannins. Taste is semi-sweet apples, some sharpness, light leathery.

Cask gravity @ GBBF 2017. Pours a golden color with no head. Has a fruity spicy slightly sweetish apple aroma. Fruity sweetish spicy apple flavor. Has a fruity spicy sweetish apple finish.

Cask gravity at the St Albans BEER festival 2017. A translucent golden yellow coloured pour with a halo of white head. Aroma is nice elderflower floral sweet apple, bile, pear, hint of plastic. Flavour is composed of woody, medium sweet, apple, dry tannin, rounded, little under fermented.. Palate is semi sweet slight tang and mealy tannin. Interesting stuff. Lingeting woody mould.

Polycask @ GBBF 2012, Great British Beer Festival, London Olympia, Hammersmith Road, London, England W14 8UX. [ As Apple Cottage F.T.J. Medium (4) ].ABV: 6.7%. Light unclear medium yellow colour with virtually no head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy apple, sweet apple, yellow apples, wrinkled aååles, wood. Flavor is moderate sweet and light light acidic with a average to long duration, sweet red appls, yellow apples, wood notes, aceton notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20120810]

Cask@GBBF2011. Hazy golden colour, not much head. Aroma is apples, yeast, herbs, some slight wooden juice and mild sulphury notes. Flavour is quite much the same. Also has some slight winelike notes and metal in the finish.

Undoubtedly the best named beverage at the 2011 GBBF. And fairly tasty as well, with an aroma of fresh apple skins and taste of dried fruit.
