Starfruit and passionfruit is a great combo for me. Though this was a dry mead, the fruits were strong and they also provided a good acidity that I found enjoyable.

Bottled, thanks fiulijn! Hazy golden. Aroma of passion fruit and chili. Sweetish with clean mouthfeel. Some metallic coffee, lots of passion fruit. Sharp and a bit gimmicky where not a lot of honey character is retained. To mix in all that exotic stuff makes me think they aren’t very happy with the original character from the honey.

Synthethic cork bottle from Food Pantry, Waikiki, HI
Hazy golden color, with light carbonation. The aroma is intense and fruity, with notes that recall a Sautenes wine. The mouthfeel is quite dry, the dryness is accentuated by the soft carbonation; it has a mild vinous flavour, including a moderate degree of acidity and the characteristic white grape wine bitterness; the fruit presence is evident, original and elegant; the final is apparently drier.
I can only imagine what this mead would be if sweeter…

750mL bottle, shared by fiulijn (thanks Alex), pours a hazy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is very pungent, full of citrus fruits, honey, and alcohol. Flavour is intensely citrusy, which cuts down on the honey notes, some stone fruits, and slight tartness. Finishes on notes of citrusy stone fruits. Unique stuff, with the stone fruits taking from and centre stage. Weird, but good.
