CP&K Pizza Port Tap Takeover. Hazy gold beer with a light haze. Little white head. Smooth palate, dry with minerally carbonation. Fruit salad sweets with a whisper of esters as well - touch of banana. Semi dry finish. The punters like this one and so do I but I just think the flavours need to be a little bolder, they are a little recessive for a big Belgian.

On tap at the Carlsbad location. Pours a cloudy amber color. A sweet fruity nose with light alcohol. The flavor is dead on for the style; rich sweet, light spices, loads of fruity esters, strawberry. Very nice.

Pours with a clear golden body and a small white head. Aroma of banana esters, pear, and candi sugar. Tastes is Coriander, candi sugar, straw and spice. Light bubbles.

From tap at the Carlsbad brewpub. Pours clear and golden yellow with a small white head. Light yeasty and grassy hops aroma. Flavour has light subdued peppery yeasty note. Bitter and towards dry yet with a light malty sweetness. Vague phenolic touch. Ends dry and yeasty spiced.

Draft in Carlsbad. A golden beer with a lazing white head. The aroma has notes of spicy hops, oranges, and peaches, as well as a touch of butter. The flavor is sweet with notes of citrus, wheat, hops, spices, and a weird note of something I’ve a hard time to name, but is a little like butter.

Hazy blonde with a thin white head. Light orange and orange peels in aroma, with some funky barnyard notes. In mouth, smooth sweet malt with nice orage peels, and rich and pleasant body. At EBF 2006.

Flattering enough pour is a moderately hazy honey-gold with light touches of amber and a medium-sized, fluffy white head that recedes rather quickly to cover, with marginal lacing left on the glass. The nose is full of heavy yeast, with dry hay and dry grass (nearly grainy at first), but the yeast creates a rather dull sensation on the nose, quite doughy, while some mild wit-beer like esters are noticeable in small amounts (banana, bubble gum). A rather unfocused aroma, though if this is 8.3 abv, it isnt noticeable thus far. The flavor really takes off on the yeast doughiness. Heavy America-does-Belgium yeastiness, just too much of it present and a very doughy (white dough), blanding flavor on the end. Medium to heavily sweet (a rather uninspiring honeyish flavor), with notes of creamy oatmeal, just the slightest touch of dry peaches and starfruit on the end, with some dusty and hay-like hops. Body could benefit from less yeast thickness, but is otherwise fairly creamy, with moderate carbonation. Alcohol is kept well-concealed in my sample.
