I don’t know what a jostaberry even is! The beer is purple, could be the berry or the malbec barrel. Not much head. Toasty, a bit slick, light berry…nothing so bad on the nose but not my optimal combination of aromas. Sharply acidic, with some toasty barrel notes taking the lead. The vinous accents come with a berry taste, I assume this jostaberry stuff. They’ve probably coaxed the best out of this batch, but I’m wishing a bit of sweeter golden ale was blended in for balance.
