Pale amber, thin head. Some sweet malts on the nose, maybe some esters. On the palate, not getting it done. Too sticky, sweet. Nice lacing and that’s about it. I’m struggling to reconcile “32 IBUs” with a beer that’s overly sweet and doesn’t really bring a great malt character to the table. I don’t hate it; I just don’t think it lands.

On tap at the brewery, listed at 5.0% abv and 32 IBU. Silvery hops and caramel on the nose, quite nice. Good gold body and soft foam. Flavour is soft caramel and mellow lager hops. Full finish, modest crispness. Just a straight ahead smooth blonde ale and that's just fine.

Bottle from CCBC. Very representative of style with emphasis on Belgian yeast. Banana, clove and cinnamon are very evident along with herbal hops with parsley and chive. Carbonation is fizzy just enough and the beer is very tasty.

Draft - Touch of caramel and stone fruit esters. Clear gold with a rich beige head. Light fruity notes, touch of grains and a touch or yeast. Not bad.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a fairly clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma is very dry, with Belgian yeast and biscuity malt, also a touch of cardboard. Flavour is along the same lines, with a very clean palate of dry crackery malt and subtle Belgian yeast. No notes of cardboard in the flavour. Dry finish that is balanced and refreshing. Very nice blonde.
