Black colour with large brown head (a bit suspicious). It's a kind of Imperial Stout that plays mainly with the roasted notes, it has a high "fruity" character, moderate acidity, the Chardonnay seems to be the better choice to integrate here.
Good, and interesting.

Dark brown, medium head. On the nose, it's whacky right away, the wine barrel kicking random wood and fruits all over the raisiny, toffeeish base beer. On the palate, the blend is more seamless. The stout is rich, but the conditioning gives it a big, deep dark fruitiness, before it swings back to a molasses richness in the finish, alongside a dash of alcohol. This is interesting. I don't normally like a wine barrel on a stout, because the sourish fruity dark thing has never worked for me. Objectively, I can see this working fairly well on the palate; it has a good structure. But I do struggle to get past the fact that I don't actually enjoy this type of beer, well made or no.

Raiting #4998. 500ml from the brewery @ home shared with Alex and Andrey. Appearance: brown with a beige head. Aroma: wine barrel, roasted malts, some sour notes. Taste: very carbonated, a bit sweet, somewhat sour, dark malts. Overall: not sure whether it's partially infected or it's coming from the Chardonnay barrel, but it's definitely sour and roasty. Good for what it is probably.
