This blend of strong dark porters was aged in oak, wine and Bourbon barrels, then blended with a dark porter that had been brewed with vanilla beans and cinnamon. The blend was then aged an additional 14 months on dates

on tap at EBF Dark brown Nose is Oaky tart apples and white grapes Starts tart. Finishes oaky with grapes and cherries with smoke and boozy heat. It’s very hard to say its okay or not. Overall, a very boozy sour which is not desirable.

Opaque black - brown beer with a tidy mid-tan head. Palate is light, slightly soft and a little dry. Fine carbonation. Mild sourness. Mild bourbon with dark fruits. Balsamic vinegar underneath, tempered by a trace of vanilla. Semi dry finish. Interesting but I am still yet to have a bourbon BA sour that I really want to have again.

Craft Clerkenwell. Bottle tasting. Opaque brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is light and a little crisp. Mild balsamic. Flemish red sourness. The sourness is well tempered by vanilla oak sweetness. Light dry finish. Really liked it this time around.

750ml bottle courtesy of CaptainCougar. Really nice merge between a sour and a big bourbon beer. Sweet huge brown ale, but completely balanced by the sour tones. Dark orange brown body. The sour starts to eat away at other flavors Excellent beer.

750mL bottle, courtesy of bvc (thanks Brandon), pours a deep murky dark amber brown with a small tan head. Aroma is very complex, full of oak barrels, dark fruits, maybe some bourbon barrels, no hint of the spices - very deep and complex, characterized by red wine oak barrel complexity. Flavour is remarkably complex, with dates on top, loads of woody oak barrels, mildly tart fruits, a slight hint of bourbon, and loads of other dark fruits. The tartness is not overbearing, but perfectly accented, with both the wine and bourbon barrels well situated amongst the many flavours. Lively carbonation, which brings out all the complexities perfectly. Extremely complex and delicious stuff - a highly complex sour.
