This blend of strong dark porters was aged in oak, wine and Bourbon barrels, then blended with a dark porter that had been brewed with vanilla beans and cinnamon. The blend was then aged an additional 14 months on dates

Bottle shared at CBC Clerko, from an IP trade, 30/09/14. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a decent tan swirl and edgeing. Nose is roasty, dark fruit rinds, fruit balsams, chestnut, dates, spice. Taste comprises earthy notes, berry fruit balsams, oaky wood must, strong alcohol wash, vinegar notes. Medium + bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Solid enough for the ABV if a little hot.

Bottle, massiev thanks to Colin. It pours deep brwon with a small beige head. The nose is soft blueberry, blackberry, lactic, wood, bramble, vanilla and balsamic vinegar. The taste is sweet-sour, juicy, boozy, acidic, blueberry, raspberry, plum. sherbet, wood, vanilla and balsamic vinegar with a sweetish finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Nice fruity character, but it is a bit sweet and heavy duty for my liking. Alright, but didn’t quite live up to what I hoped for.

Bottle shared in London - big thanks to Colin. Pours deep brown with a frothy tan head. Big acetic berry nose, moderate funk, vinegar. Big sweet flavor but also quite tangy, with lots of sugary dark fruits, plum, blueberry. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Warming finish with lots of gooey fruits, some acetic burn, ripe berry sugars. A bit heavy handed overall, though still pretty tasty.

750 c&c shared by Marcus. Pours dark brown with a transient beige head. Aroma is like getting sour wine and wood stuffed up your nose. Woot!!!! Flavor is sour wine, musty oak, and some majorly dark treacle. This is to die for. Gets a little chocolate with time.

2011 Project 750mL bottle. Aroma has a light acidity with a moderate dark fruit character with notes of cherries, berries, plums and prunes. Medium light oak note. Some residual notes from the malt, mostly toasted bread, toffee and caramel. Pours a cloudy brown with a thin tan head that quickly recedes to the edges where it disappears. No lacing and sheets of alcohol. Flavor is fairly tart with a moderate fruit presence of cherry, berry, prune and raisin. Some residual malt notes of chocolate, caramel and toffee. Medium oak notes and low bitterness. Moderate spice note that works well with the beer - cloves, allspice and other fall spices. Light alcohol spice in the finish that is hidden by the acidity and spices. Some sweetness upfront. Mouthfeel is medium full bodied with medium carbonation. Low to medium low astringency and medium alcohol warmth. Overall an alright beer with a clear sourness. The spices work well with the beer, but I think I might enjoy it more without the spices. As I have said in other reviews, I am not a big fan of dark sour beers (though I seem to continue to buy them). Interesting, but not one of my favorites.

500 ml bottle. 2017 vintage. 11.1% Pours a very dark brown with little head. Aromas of prunes, dark berries, oak, and fruity balsamic vinegar. Flavors follow same with emphasis on oak and unripened berries. Quite nice.

Bottle thanks to Diego. Pours a dark brown with small beige head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is spice and oak. Medium mouthfeel with light tartness, oak, spice, roast with light sour finish. Very good.

Draft - Vintage 2011 - Bourbon and oak notes. Jet black with a thin brown head. Chocolaty, minty, sour, vanilla and bourbon. This is a really cool drink, complex and fun. Must drink more.
