Cask at Moon under Water, Wolverhampton. Pours a golden yellow with a small foamy white head and good lacing. The aroma has floral hops and citrus. In the mouth it starts off sweet but with some underlying bitterness, and grains to flavour. But after a while sticky citrus comes through and totally dominates the yucky finish. Not for me.

Pours a clear golden colour with a small frothy white head that settled. A light malt and lemony citrus aroma. A moderately sweet and citrus bitter taste, biscuity malt and lemony flavours with a lingering citrusy hop bitter finish.

[Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell.] A pale amber pour with a tight cream coloured head; biscuity malt aroma; citrusy taste; and a sharp grapefruit bitterness to finish. Pretty good.

An absolutely passable citrusy, hoppy ale. Nice dry, grassy hop edge, some zesty citrus. It's not anything special but it's got a reasonably crisp taste and it knows what sort of beer it wants to be. Drinkable.

Handpull cask at the Pilgrims Progress, Bedford. Light gold, clear with a filmy uneven white head. A bit of scratchy hay aroma. Sweet notes to the taste with a sulphurous note coming in. Heavy bitterness in the finish. Not particularly keen.

On cask at the Hanging Bat. Appearance - golden amber with a decent head. Nose - orange and cake. Taste - candied orange, burnt raisin. Light toast. Palate - crunchy medium bodied. Long linger. Overall - good. Impressed that ESB style was rolled out under 5%.

24th Aug 2018; gravity poured half-pint at the 22nd Codsall Station Beer Festival. One of the best beers I had during the day. Light golden pour, wispy topping. Mild citrus aroma and taste with a biscuit like maltiness throughout. Just a good beer all round really.

Cask at GBBF’16, day one, 09/08/16. Clear golden blonde with a decent off white head. Nose is citric sherbets, bread dough, straw, tangerine. Taste comprises toasted grains, soft bread, pale malts, orange peel. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok stuff, light citric hop notes, more like a strong golde than an ESB.
