330mL bottle, pours a deep dark amber / burgundy with a tiny off-white head. Nose brings out dark red fruits, some brandy notes, sweet caramel and brown sugar. Flavour is robust, with a big chewy caramel malt base, along with brown sugar, brandy-like liqueur, toffee, and ample resinous hopping. Big and heavy, with nothing subtle here. A massive barley wine that is really well put together. Excellent.

Butelka przeleżakowana pół roku po dacie ważności. Barwa mocnej herbaty, klarowne. Piana szybko opada do obrączki. W aromacie czerwone suszone owoce. W smaku owocowo słodkie, oleista konsystencja. Gorycz na zaskakująco wysokim poziomie. Świetny Barley Wine!

Bottle, at Haand Festival. An almost clear amber colored beer with a small, beige head. The aroma is on the malty side, with caramel, some rum raisins and an alcohol touch. A bit simple perhaps, but pretty nice. The same can be said about the flavor, which is quite sweet, with a nice but quite high bitterness. Caramel maltyness, alcohol and rum raisin. It’s full-bodied, lightly warming and with a nice carbonation level. Lasting finish. Perhaps a bit on the bitter side this one, even for me, but it has the sweetness to deal with it. Not a quencher, sure a sipper. 160528

Bottle from Hopt at 10% and 75 IBU, BB 25 03 17, 33cl sample. Clear copper color, short frothy head. Aroma of burned and toasted malts, hoppy like herbal tea and even slight spicy notes. Feels like an english barley wine, so without cookie and biscuity sweetness. Herbal bitterness, toasted malts, orange marmalade bitterness. Good, but not outstanding.
