Bottle at Chriso - 25/09/12 thanks to Chris for this one. Dark chestnut brown with thin tan head. Malt forward nose, toffee, a little oaky woodiness, hints of chocolate. Taste follows from nose and a little coffee is evident. Medium bodied with slightly spritzy carbonation leading to a dry finish. Decent enough stout.

Bottle at ChrisO. It pours very dark brown, with a thin beige head. The nose is sweet caramel, roasted malt, treacle and light coffee. The taste is roasted malt, earth, subtle metallic notes, burnt aspect and coffee, with a bitter-dry finish. Short finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Nothing particularly wrong with it, just rather forgettable.

Cask@Reading Beer Festival 2012. Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is mild roast, some milky notes as well as some grains and liquorice. Flavour is roasted malts, some ripe fruits, liquorice and mild spicy notes. A bit burning on the tip of the tongue.

(Cask at Angleterre, 20120511) The beer poured black. Its head was small, dense and long lasting. Aroma had roasted malts and coffee. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were roasted malts, burnt malts, coffee, hops and malts. Aftertaste was roasty, burnt and bitter. Good aroma but too burnt taste.

Cask @ Salhojankadun Pub as ”25 Silver Pigs Stout”
Aroma is light with some roasted malt, hings of dark chocolate and coffee. Flavour is rather dry with roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, some coca-cola, hints of ash and peat. Bitter finish with well-roasted malt. Very good and rich with high roastiness level.

Cask conditioned at Reading BF 2012. Black beer lasting beige head. Roasty coffee. Its a bit overly roasted but pretty pleasant. Actually it settlez down into a nutty coffee beer which is quite pleasant and has some good lasting finish and drinkability. Pretty good.
