Gravity cask at the Blue Boar, Leicester. Very dark brown with a quickly dissipating loose khaki head. Coffee beans, papery notes, touches of woodsmoke and bramble in the aroma. Lovely balance in the taste: it isn't overly sweet, but rather it's tamed by a subtle fruity hop from the beginning. Body is thin and flat, but the moreish quality of the aftertaste - notes of carob and light liquorice among the coffee - certainly compensates.
