Keg at the Queens Road Tap, Leicester as part of their Thornbridge Tap Takeover weekend. Black and impenetrably opaque. The thinnest suggestion on brown head rests at the top. Intense, confusing scent: chocolate, Marmite, balsamic vinegar, salt liquorice. Equally intense but more focussed taste: sweet vanilla notes with a sour/bittr fruitiness later on. Medium to heavy carbonation. Issues abound, but it's a decent imperial stout.
