A golden lager that showcases the characteristics of a sizable hop bill – Cascade, Centennial, Mosaic, Simcoe and Mandarina Bavaria – alongside bready malt aromatics. Late addition kettle hops followed by extensive dry-hopping provides full citrus and tropical fruit flavors and aromas balancing a soft bitterness.

Pour is orange with a small white head. Aroma is is a decent generic hop and not much else. Flavor is is super dry with some caramel malt and again a generic hop. The malt bill used was a bit to heavy for the style. It was kind of overpowering.

Nice clear copper coloured body with a bronze glow and a dense, three centimetre tall almost pure white head. Aroma of fresh hops, a touch of caramel and toffee along with some lighter fruit scents like pears and apples and a dose of medicinal and astringent notes near the end. Light to Medium-bodied; Assertive biscuity bite up front from the lager yeast and earthier malts along with a noticeable floral flavour from the hops and even a touch of the caramel and lightly toasted sugars near the end. Aftertaste shows a light grassy and herbal flavour with a bigger dash of caramel and sweetness from some fruit and finishing with more of the lager yeast and a bite from the astringency near the end. Overall, a relatively strong and pungent beer with the distinct lager flavours that should be here in the style, but not enough hops nor complexity to make this great. A decent beer, but one shouldn't go out of the way for this nor think the label means that this will be a great beer - it simply isn't. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Costco in Pentagon City (Arlington), Virginia on 08-September-2017 for US$6,89 sampled at home in Washington on 05-January-2018.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 6/6/2017. Pours crystal clear deep golden amber color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berry, lemon/orange zest, light pepper/pine, cracker, lightly toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berry, lemon/orange zest, light pepper/pine, cracker, lightly toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berry, lemon/orange zest, light pepper/pine, cracker, lightly toasted bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and no astringent hop flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Perfectly clean on lager flavors, with zero yeast notes present. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and moderately bready/grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 7.8%. Overall this is an awesome DIPL! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the modestly bitter/drying finish. Really awesome vibrant, juicy, and lightly dank hops; great balancing bready malt backbone, with no residual sweetness. A really enjoyable offering. Loved the Simcoe/Mosaic hop presence.

Chalumeaux with this 22 oz. bottle share, thanks T.j. Appearance is clear golden color, weak head. Nose is grapefruit, orange, and lager yeast. Taste is grapefruit peel, tropical fruit and a sweet malt. Some orange, lager. Palate is light to medium bodied with a long dry finish. Overall would not have thought this was lager. Decent.

Dandelion and grass nose. Crystal clear amber, thin head, good lace. Marigold, lillies, and hay. Light to medium body, easy carbonation. Pretty much spot on for this style and superbly crafted. Hoppy and strong, but retains its lager character. Hop selection pays homage to both IPAs and traditional lagers. A good example of what collaborative efforts can produce.

Keg at World of Beer Charlottesville. Clear copper, large creamy white head, good retention. Aroma of leather, pale malt, tropical fruit. Taste is toffee, pine, tropical fruit, pale malt. Medium bodied, lingering bitterness.
