Sidetrail is a NE DIPA that we brewed in collaboration with our friends Trillium Brewing Company. Big thanks to JC (@mrtrillium) for coming to our brewery to make this awesome DIPA. This beer has a nice sunshine straw haze. We decided to brew this with a new hop named ZAPPA, and its Neomexicanus sister Sabro, while rounding it off with some amazing Citra. Super smooth, with a pillowy mouthfeel, sends to a tropical bouquet of Pineapple, Mango, Orange Marmalade, and Coconut Cream….all juice, all day my friends. Sidetrail finishes with a complex bitterness that lingers, but in a good way, this will not disappoint! With over 8lbs per barrel in the dry hop, we pushed the limits of what we know about hoppy beers and the results are amazing.

16 oz can. Aroma is mild tropical fruit, yeast, malt. Flavor has soft melon, mild mango, and malt that is similar to white bread. Soft mouthfeel. Ends on a floral bitterness. Well balanced. Nice!

Pours murky dark gold into a tulip. Bright white head with good retention recedes leaving soapy spiders. Hot juicy fruit and overripe mango aromas. Soft with sweet juicy fruit, white smarties and melon upfront turning to dirty tangerine peel in the dry, medium length finish.

Tip Tap draught, 12/30/22. Heavily hazy-turbid-concrete with some bright maize. Neat, off-white head. Well-retained. Juicy citrus a bit timid, maybe a touch of pine. White bread and cracker from malts easily balance. Clean, no flaw or alcohol. Hard to tell if there's enough bitterness from the nose. For how fresh it is, it's not that hoppy. Soft, a bit earthy and piney with galaxy-like spicy resin. Good attenuation but heavily astringent herbal notes. This is kind of a mess and the galaxy just sucks as Galaxy does this year. Moderate malt depth but too much sweet and bitter juxtaposition. No cohesion or balance. Also too sweet as it warms.

Hops up front, citrus followed by a nice balanced bitterness in the finish. Real nice.
