Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is malt, wood, caramel, toffee, soft notes of Bourbon and vanilla, raisins, touch of ripe fruits, some alcohol. Flavour is sweet and moderate bitter with a little booze. Body is above medium. Not a Doppelbock, lacks dark malts and a little roast. Sweet with lots of wood, caramel malt, Bourbon and raisins. Okay, but I'd hoped for more.

Tap at Stadsbrouwhuis, Leiden: Brown colored brew with an sweet bitter taste with an little bit of burning alcohol. Hints of caramel, toasted malts and vanilla.

Fles. Bruin van kleur. Mout, vanille, hopjesvla in geur en smaak. Zoet. Ietsje drop. Peer. Bourbon? In je dromen misschien. Weet niet wat ik van dit bier moet denken. Op zich best lekker, laten we het daarop houden.

Fles 33cl thuis. Sterk aanwezige karamelsmaak, ergens bourbon invloeden, heel licht kleffig, koolzuur, zacht van smaak. Alsof je een lekker karamelsnoepje drinkt. Heeft meer weg van een zoete dubbel dan een doppelbock. (28-7-2018).

6 3 5 2 10 Draft at Anna’s Bar, Den Haag. Clear amber brown with a small cream coloured head. Aroma of tart dark fruits, brett, malt, some bourbon but seems to be ruined by infection. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Dark brown amber beer, small head. Aroma is malt, caramel, some bourbon. Taste is the same, sweet, some bitterness. ok

Secret Sinterklaas 2017, thanks, Guser Alert, snel boven de spoelbak geopend, en dat was maar goed ook. schenkt wazig caramel met licht getinte kraag. aroma is zoet, mout, graan, alcohol, licht zuurtje, fruit, smaken van toffee, caramel, mout, donker fruit, rozijn, redelijk bitter, ijzer, zachte ingetogen bourbon, matige body.

Fles van Mitra Bunnik. Karamel, butterscotch, typisch dubbelbok. Vleugje houterige bourbon. Ik had misschien meer vanille en koekjes verwacht, maar het is juist de dubbelbok die overheerst. Op zich ook wel knap in de tijd van ongebalanceerde BA alcoholbommen.

Bottle at home. Clear light amber with small beige head. Lots of sugar, honey, caramel, soft spices, some bourbon but not in a barrel way just straight young bourbon, vanilla, cane sugar. It has a lot of those dark sugary notes that you also find in artisanal candy or those weird sugars to put in your tea. It's not too sweet though, and has a herbal and bit boozy bitterness. Over medium bodied with a bit watery slick feel. Not bad.

Bottle @ home. Light brown colour with a medium sized offwhite head. Smells sweet, malty, dried chopped corn. Tastes malty and quite a bit of caramel. Quite sweet. Mecium body, soft carbo.
