Light haze on this deep amber beer, tiny pale tan head. Light palate, fairly dry, decent fine carbonation. Thin but flavoursome malts, really not too much sweetness being delivered here. Some brandy soaked dried fruits, dry and bitterish. Alcohol evident in an ethanol way, not to hot by any means but there is a tingling spice. Tangy unsweet toffee in to a light spicy bitterish finish. Spicy bitter linger. Quite sharp edges this one and I am both amused and incredulous to see a BBW Dec 2020 on this bottle. Au Contraire if I mayz this should age well, I would say 2 - 3 years and it should round off quite well.

Bottle at caberfeigh. Pours clear deep amber, nose is caramel, toffee, orange, taste is sweet, fruity, a little soapy, boozy.

Not sure if I got a duff one. It was pretty flat and most of the flavour I got was the Glenfarclas aging which is fine but didn't get any of the fruity, malty, warming booze you'd hope for from a barley wine. Disappointing.
