Pours a nice dark brown from a bottle, minimal off-white lacing. Compared to the non-BA stuff, aroma is a bit less candy-like, more of a rum with some nice vanilla bean and oak, light cinnamon stick. Flavor is cinnamon and vanilla, a bit of rum. Good beer.

Bottle thanks to Leighton. Aroma is huge cinammon, sweet, Christmas spices, little soapy, Yankee candle. Reddy copper coloured pour with a thin off white head. Flavour is sweet, nutty, caramel malts, Christmas cake, with big Christmas spices, cinnamon, ginger, mint. Flavours have rounded out nicely. Palate is full, sweet, viscous, warming alcohol. The couple years of age have done this bottle pretty well.

Sample at KurtKeller 021: Pappy-tastic 01 on 03/06/2015. Pours a dark amber-brown color with a medium light beige head that recedes steadily. Thick rings of lacing. Aroma of malt, caramel and cinnamon. Medium body with a boozy character and flavors of caramel malt, spices and dark fruit. The finish is sweet and malty with a gingerbread aftertaste. Good beer overall.

Bottle @ ZZT XI. Clear amber color, small off-white head. Smell and taste herbs, spices, cinnamon, sweet, lightly caramel, wood. Decent body and carbonation. Compared to the regular version this is way better. It’s drinkable. But it is a herb, spice mostly cinnamon bomb.
