This is the latest addition to the Achouffe Brewery... The aroma of Cherry CHOUFFE gives pride of place to cherries. It also reveals notes of strawberry, almond, spices and sweet Port. Round-bodied, soft and delicate, Cherry CHOUFFE delights the gourmands among us. It has a satisfying finish, with a very slight bitterness.

Bottle from Stamford Beers Direct. Deep reddish colour with a thin head. Aroma and taste are sweet cherry. Hoped it would have a more tart cherry taste.

Bottle. Pours a clear ruby red with an off white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a strong sweet and candied cherry with a hint of grain and Belgian yeast underlying. Flavor is over powering sweet cherry with a hint of Belgian yeast backing.

Stubby bottle for $3 at chalet in east lima, nice place. Opened, it provides a slight hint of tart cherry nose. Pour is surprisingly dark yet clear. Has dark maroon look about it and possesses a nice creamy light tan head. For a strong brew, this stuff comes across rather civilized and enjoyable. No cloying medicine here. American nasty ass high alky beers can take a lesson from this stuff. Not rude in the least. Just simple fun - warming ripe tart cherries in the mouth. Nothing artificial here. A really good example of a civilized beer without any covering hops, the beer is so much in the open for everybody to taste - a really good brew. Glad I picked this one up, almost passed it buy because of the price. Finishes with a mild warming fruity sensation. Wish I had another or three.

Mörkt kopparfärgad vätska med röda inslag. Här är det körsbär i doften för hela slanten. Skön maltsötma och en rejäl dos saftiga körsbär i smaken. Mycket eldig och värmande munkänsla.

Bottle. Clear red with a just pink head that never quite disappears. 3+ Sweet cherry aroma. There is nothing else. Full bodied, creamy texture. Initially seems very sweet indeed with lots of cherries, dough but also tart cherries, spices. Bitterness struggles through at the end and does relieve a tad. I really wouldn't guessed it was based on McChouffe. Grew on me a lot but gno.

Bottle part of a delivery from Sophie's Beer Store. Brownish red, clear with a ring of off-white head. Smells of cherry brandy and light bready yeast. For the first couple of sips, it tastes a bit like a Belgian ale with cherry syrup added, and the two elements jar. I get used to it after a while, though, and start to enjoy it well enough. Long cough syrup cherry finish and aftertaste.
