This is the latest addition to the Achouffe Brewery... The aroma of Cherry CHOUFFE gives pride of place to cherries. It also reveals notes of strawberry, almond, spices and sweet Port. Round-bodied, soft and delicate, Cherry CHOUFFE delights the gourmands among us. It has a satisfying finish, with a very slight bitterness.

bottle bb 7/19 ramato rubino velata buona dchiuma piuttosto persistente amarene sciroppate dolce chimico na anche una nota leggermente acidula ma risulta decisamente dolce con note di zuccheri aggiunti tipo caramelle

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ van Rooij, Culemborg. Ruby red with a thick off-white head. Sweet cherry aroma. Sweet taste with a light sour note as well. Finish is sweet and also a bit artificial cherry. As a rule I don't really like fruit in my beer but this is done moderately well, not oversweet as most fruitbeers, but I wish the cherries were a bit more subdued as the overpower anything else.

A dark red-brown beer, a head is medium and beige. Aroma has lots of cherries, as their strong sweetness the overally almost like artificially, canned cherries. Taste has lots of cherries and sweetness, but not so artificially as in the aroma. Medium bodied. Basicly, this has only cherries.

33cl Bottle from AH. Reddish amber colour, off-white head. Aroma of cherries, marzipan, typical Chouffe spices. Flavour is sugary, sweet, marzipan, cherries, some alcohol, coriander seed, hint of caramel, bittersweet finish. Medium bodied. Not too bad if you like Kasteel Rouge as well.

Bottle at home. Clear ruby with fizzy pink head. Some cherry candy, very syrupy, yeast, light woody, leather, sweet grains, cornflakes, some bitter hops, light meaty even. Over medium sweet and bitter. Over medium bodied. Not as one dimensional as I expected, though these extra dimensions are not too great. Not much worse than regular Chouffe, and certainly better than some of their other concoctions.

Bottle @ home. Bright red colour with a medium sized pink head. Smells lollipop, artificial cherry, syrupy. Tastes liquid winegum, syrup, sugary, sweet, artificial. Medium body, soft carbo. Time to call the dentist, holy fuck this is sweet.
