Pundie is a measure of beer that used to be given free to brewery workers on certain days of the year. Traditionally a strong beer, the name gave rise to the colloquial term for a brewery; a pundie house. This term in turn was mashed into the word booze!

A great burnished copper strong ale. The malty palate is finely balanced Saaz hops to give a full flavoured yet refreshing beer.

Cask, handpump at The Malt & Hops, Leith Nr Edinburgh in company of Craig, Rob and friend (sorry forgot name) & Loz 29.10.10 Pours mid amber with a white head, a touch sweet ( bit of confectionary shop going on) There is a bittersweet bite, touch shallow. This beer I noticed brought to an end a run of some 53 beer ratings 3.0 or above, I don’t normally look out for things like that but was just looking at what I’d had in October and noticed this slightly unusual sequence. Sadly my next rating (which may not go in sequence) was also a below 3.0 score. A6 A4 T5 P3 Ov11 2.9
