Thanks to Beer Savant for sharing 2011 vintage bottle during his 50th birthday bash. The beer is a brownish-black color with a medium thin foamy tan head that recedes gradually. Short strings of lacing. The aroma consists of bourbon, vanilla and oak. Full-bodied with flavors of chocolate, black cherry and bourbon. The finish is roasty with a dark chocolate and bourbon aftertaste. Enjoyable beer overall.

22oz bottle pours an oily, opaque black with some spitty, beige head. Nose is all over the place, malt, brown sugar, caramel, wood, berry. Flavors of chocolate milk, malt, caramel, white corn whiskey, sharp, boozy rum. Full, sticky finish.

Copper wax, bottle #1814, vintage 2011 shared by badnewsbeers. Opaque brown-black body, thin coffee & cream head. Buttery, oaky nose with warming alcohol, with lots of cocoa and coffee bean. Hot. Oaky body, round, with cocoa and marshmallow buffering the oak, alcohol, and coffee beans. Bitter finish with lots of rum/whiskey and licorice. Rich. Very good.

Bottle, 22oz. It’s a dark brown beer, topped by a beige head of moderate size. Some bourbon and vanilla in the aroma, but mostly chocolate and roasted malts. Some licorice and alcohol. Quite sweetish on the palate, full-bodied and soft on the palate. Some alcohol warmth. Vanilla, bourbon, chocolate and roasted malts. Some bitterness in the finish. A very tasteful and easy drinkable beer. A tasteful one indeed. 121109
