Clear dark amber, small offwhite froth. Light aroma, malt and yeast. Notes of brown sugar. Flavour is sugary sweet, malty with sweet caramel, light notes of dried fruit. The sweetness seems to get more balanced after a few sips and the alcohol gets more prominent. All in all a decent sipper.

500ml bottle, vintage 2014, bought at Barley Wine in Copenhagen more than a year ago. Clear amber coloured body, tiny beige head. Spotty lacing. Smell of brown malts and apricot, mid-sweet. Comprehensive taste of dried fruits, caramel, brown sugar and cinnamon balanced by dusty hops towards the finish. Soft in the mouth. Warming down the throat. Full bodied. Pleasant and not overly sweet (shared with Finn and Vegard, romjulslunsj, Tromsø 30.12.2015).

Bottled. Orange colour, small off-white head. Aroma is liquorice roots, some zestiness as well as muscovado sweetness to it. Flavour is rather similar, but also has some slight sweetness from the alcohol. Lacks a bit of yeasty/spicy notes, otherwise this would have been a nice BSA. Would need something to hide some of the alcohol in the flavour.
