Cellar clean out session. Opaque dark brown beer, good pale tan head. Palate is airy, semi dry and has reasonable fine carbonation. Tangy dark malts, mellow coffee. Mild milky sweetness. Touch of tangy fruits and then a floral bitter finish. Clean but just another stout.

Cask at the "Southern Ale Adventure" Beer Festival at the Prince of Wales, Farnborough. An opaque black pour with a loose beige head; toffee aroma; rich dry burnt treacle taste; with a lasting dry bitterness and a hint of pepper. A satisfying dark ale, rather similar to Hobgoblin.
