Bottle at Hix Mayfair. It pours clear amber with a decent foamy white head. The aroma is fairly restrained malty action, bread, biscuit and some sweetish caramel/toffee. The taste is crisp, light bitterness, earth, bread, sweet malt backbone, caramel and dried fruits with a dryish finish. Light - medium body and fine carbonation. A fairly restrained malty bitter, but it does go pretty well with food. Fair, but nowhere near as good as the Hix Oyster Ale.

bottle from Lyme Regis Wines. Golden colour, large off-white head. Hoppy aroma. Solid malty base, fruity hops that add a touch of citrus fruit. Smooth palate. Very nice.
