Ultra Dark Stout. Intense chocolate and liquorice flavours fight for dominance whilst a subtle undercurrent of coffee slips by in the background. Bitterness is clean and crisp. Delivery is dry and relatively smooth in this easy drinking stout.

Draft at Pigs Ear Beer Festival 2013 - London. Pours black-brown with a fine, tan cream head. Fair, with note of ash, dry cocoa, well roasted malts, torched wood and earth. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Bitter and ashy to finish with big roast, burnt wood and subdued baking cocoa. Not bad.

Pigs Ear. Semi opaque dark brown beer. Residual pale tan head. Palate is light and dry. Very mellow dark malts. Little estery sweetness, bubblegum tinged. Light dried fruits. Okay.
