Cask at the brewpub, London. Pours clear, red-brown with a frothy, off-white head. Burnt toast on the nose, some chocolate bar, dark pine. Light to medium sweet flavor with mellow earthy bitterness, burnt wood, tobacco and ash, chocolatey dark malts. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Moderately sweet finish with some further dark, earhy bitterness, burnt toast and wood, light grass, bittersweet chocolate. Good stuff.

At tge Brew Pub. Very dark brown beer, clear. Tiny pale tan head. Palate is light and a little dry. Light dark chocolate and dark malts. Whisper of smoke. Tangy mild hops - orange. Finishes semi dry with all flavours blending nicely. A decent porter but a little thin.
