Cask at Babington Arms, Derby. Pours a (very) dark reddish-brown with a medium sized cream head and good lacing. Caramel to the fore in the aroma, alongside plums and roasted malts. In the mouth it fluctuates between sweet and bitter, with flavour of dark fruits, malts and some hoppy hints. Hints of chocolate and blck wine gums later on as well leading to a fruity finish. This is quite decent.

Bottle from the Vale Brewery Shop, Brill, Buckinghamshire, (Barry purchased this) consumed at Isobel’s (Loz’s mums) 20.05.11 This was better than expected, in fact not too bad at all (not usually a fan of Milestone in bottles) Touch smokey, some coffee, warming, with a little chocolate also. Very tasty. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4

Deep mahogany coloured body under a rather dense, light brownish head. Aroma of earthy, dark malts and dark fruits. Notes of resinous hops to the taste buds added by caramel malts. Jam-like impression offset by lingering bitterness to the aftertaste. Smooth palate. Medium bodied. Cask, half at Bankers Draft, Sheffield 1 Oct 10.

Bottle at home ... Deep red brown ... little coffee and roast mlats nose ... Oh its turned ... sour tones with a decent malt in background. Was probably never special but its not up to anything now...
