This exclusive beer has been brewed based on the Cherry Porter Grand Reserve recipe and is just as rich and fruity. However, more sweetness and complexity is found from the addition of amaretto directly into the brew. Still famously deep red in colour with rich cherry notes, wonderfully complimented with a subtle hint of almond!

Thursday 16th October 2025. Cobweb tasting session with four friends, almost every beer being very old or just 'out of date' (mostly very old). My place being the venue. The flip top 750ml bottle of this was well in date (we had to have some decent beers) and was a welcome break from the cobwebs, cheers Mark. Deep ruby red body, beige roof. Mild cherry flavour with an almond undertone, fairly sweet and not as rich or decedent as you'd expect from a 'Grand Reserve' with Amaretto added, all a little too subtle for me.

Cask at St Albans Beer & Cider Festival, St Albans, Herts. A deep ruby/red coloured pour with a medium off white bubbly head on top. Sweetish, almond, cherry aroma & taste. Quite tart too. Not bad but nowhere near as good as the plum grand reserve.
