Crosse Keys Spoons. Clear dark amber beer. Light dry palate. A little dry dark malt, very mild roast. Whisper of smoke. Pleasant berry fruits provide nice contrast. Finishes dry with more mild dark roast.

Cask at The Crosse Keys, JDW, London. Pours clear, rich brown with a weak, foamy head. Mild toasty malts and ripe fruits in the nose. Light to mediums sweet flavor with light toast and semi-dark fruits. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Mild sweet finish with faint, dry leaves. Very basic but a nice mild overall.

Cask-conditioned at the Gryphon, Bristol 2/03/2012. dark, ruddy brown with a slight, off-white head. Aroma of dark fruit, roasted malts and a touch of caramel. Easy drinking, with more fruit and roastiness leading to a gently bitter finish. Good.
